The Winston’s Club
Privacy policy
Last updated October 13, 2026.
This policy covers The Winston’s Club in San Juan Capistrano and Yorba Linda, The Paddock Room, and this website. It explains what we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
When you visit this website, make a reservation, buy tickets, join the club or our list, sign in at the lounge or write to us, we may collect:
- Contact details: your name, email address and mobile number.
- Reservations and visits: the night you booked, how many are in your party, any occasion or note you give us, whether you were seated or missed the booking, and how often you visit.
- Lounge sign-in: if you sign in on the lounge tablet as a member’s guest, your name, contact details and the member who brought you.
- Membership: your membership, member number, when you joined and whether your dues are current.
- Payments: you pay on Stripe’s own secure page. We never see or store your card number. We keep Stripe’s reference to the payment, the amount, and whether a card is held for a reservation.
- Your choices: when you confirmed you are 21 or over, agreed to the no-show policy, or said yes to hearing from us by email or text, and on which form.
- Messages: what you send us through the contact and private event forms.
- Technical data: like every website, ours records basic information about each visit (IP address, browser type, the page asked for) to keep the site running and secure.
2. How we use your information
- To hold and confirm reservations, and to charge a no-show fee only as the policy you agree to when you book describes.
- To sell and check tickets.
- To run memberships: dues, member prices and the members’ booking window.
- To send what you asked for: confirmations, receipts, tickets and your membership welcome. These are never marketing.
- To answer your messages and private event inquiries.
- To tell you about special events, cigar specials and promotions, only if you said yes, and separately for email and for text. If you join our list by text, that includes the Paddock Room’s password each Friday, up to 6 texts a month. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any text.
- To improve the club, this website and our service.
- To meet our legal obligations, including making sure our guests are 21 or over.
3. Cookies
This website uses only the cookies it needs to work. There are no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies.
- Age check (wsc_door): remembers your answer to the age question until you close your browser.
- Member (wc_member_phone): when you tell us you are a member, remembers your mobile number for 12 hours so member prices and the members’ booking window apply.
- Invitation (wsc_invite): remembers an invitation code for an invitation-only night, for 30 days.
- Staff (wc_staff): keeps our staff signed in to the staff pages.
Your browser also keeps your Motion setting (on or off) and whether you have already seen our sign-up, on your own device, so it does not ask twice. Stripe sets its own cookies on its payment page to prevent fraud. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the age check and member pricing will then ask again.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. These services help us run the club, and each handles information under its own privacy policy:
- Stripe: card payments, the card held for a reservation, and membership dues.
- Supabase: the database that keeps reservations, tickets and memberships.
- Vercel: hosts this website.
- Resend: delivers our confirmation and receipt emails.
- Mailchimp: our newsletter and marketing emails, only if you said yes.
- SpotOn: the point-of-sale system at the bar, where members’ names go on the tab.
- Zeffy: donations to The Brotherhood of the Leaf Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) charity, and its memberships are made on Zeffy’s pages.
- Google Maps, Instagram and Facebook: our address links open Google Maps and our social links open Instagram and Facebook. Those sites apply their own policies once you are there.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
5. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. This website only runs over an encrypted connection, the database is closed to the public and reached only through our own server, staff pages are behind a passcode, and card numbers never reach us at all. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep your information while you are our guest or member, and for as long as the law requires us to keep records. Ask us and we will delete what we do not have to keep.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you
- correct information that is wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- opt out of marketing at any time
